CINZIA CALAMITA

I was 15 the first time I taught someone to swim

I hadn't studied it. I'd simply spent years watching tourists move through the water at Cala Gonone — effortlessly, gracefully, like they belonged there. I wanted to understand that feeling. And then I wanted to share it.

Growing up in a small seaside village, the sea wasn't a holiday destination — it was home. That closeness shaped everything: how I move in the water, how I read it, and how I help others feel safe in it.

In 1995 I became a certified PADI Scuba Instructor. But long before any qualification, I already knew what I was here to do: help people discover that the underwater world isn't something to fear — it's something to fall in love with.

Today, through snorkeling, I guide people of all ages and abilities into Sardinia's most stunning waters. Some arrive nervous. Most leave wanting to come back.

The sea has given me so much. Every session is my way of giving some of that back.
